MTC Windhoek Fashion Week: Day 4
OH!!
The fashion guys. The FASHION!
I am so proud of the work the designers put out this year. The entire time I was watching the looks come down the runway, I was like “Oh?”, “WHAT?”. I was just amazed.
Not only was it great to see Disney realise her dreams but her collection was everything! So was Pewa’s. Very minimal, loved the clean and crisp aesthetic of July by DSNY A and the neutral palette of These Nudes by Proud. Very my vibez! If you know, you know.
My absolute favourite of the night, and I feel very bad for not having religiously followed this designer’s work before but Linrico Humphries is now one of my Namibian Designers. His 2019 collection was just as amazing, but last night? I was like YESSSS to every single thing.
Other faves included Maison De Rouge’s very feminine and soft silhouettes. I never thought I would love pink and green together. Fashion by Biko also had a range of pieces I would definitely rock! A in A Designs has the prettiest print and play on geometry. Also the colours were communicating.
Honorable mentions include Siuna Fashions and the creativity that their garments posses. The drama? Love it. Another is Break of Dawn, these are the dresses Miss Namibia’s contestants should wear. They have the Namibian identity and a whole lot of character.
Another thing I’d like to talk about are the models! What?! I would make my list but I don’t know most of their names. But Allison is at the top of that list. I love love love her. Once I’ve figured out all their names, I will make a post just for them. Haha.
Yesterday’s outfit was also not planned lol. But it was an oversized Blue Shirt from Edgars (Men’s) and then I threw a thrifted pleated green skirt over it. Added some sunnies and ankle boots. I was on my feet all day in the boots, running around for content. Not ideal. SO for today’s unplanned outfit I’ll probably just put on my jeans and shirt uniform and some kicks. Haha. The struggle.
I wasn’t able to share images of the collections I spoke about but I linked their Instagram accounts so you can check them out. But you can also follow and check out MTC Windhoek Fashion Week, they will be posting the collections on there.
My images are taken by Shili Munyama of Creative South. Check out his work too.
