MTC Windhoek Fashion Week: Day 1

The biggest fashion event of the year kicked off yesterday with a welcoming party at Avani Hotel and let me just tell you, people didn’t come to play.

I was so happy to see the fashion industry people in one room again after having faced the biggest challenge this year. COVID. It was lovely to see everyone happy and about, fashionably. Which undoubtedly made me even more excited for the runway shows.

Thankful for what the MTC WFW team have done and are continuing to do for the industry. And honestly, the partnership with MTC couldn’t have come at a better time.

If you are still looking for the full schedule, see it here.

I had a different planned than what I wore yesterday only because it was too hot to wear what I wanted to wear. I wouldn’t have survived the evening. Lol.

So I opted to throw on my uniform, black slacks and an oversized t-shirt, hat and some mules. I needed to be comfortable (as always) to be able to document and create some content for the magazine. And that I was.

My favourite looks from the evening included that of the forever fashionable Disney Andreas, Jay Aeron, Maria Nepembe, @ohmywoudre and others whose names I don’t know. But we may compile something for Monochrome, check it out there. :-)

Here are some pictures of my Day 1 look, shot by my sweetest, Michelle Sibeso.
