YOH!

I am in awe! No ways!

Where do I start?

Okay, Day 5 was a vibe, jaw dropping fashion, content-worthy streetstyle looks, ENERGY! Even my social anxious self was thriving.

As you know I’m finally working on our first ever print magazine and wanted to use fashion week to scout for Namibian creatives who have not been on my radar because I now live under a rock. MTC WFW gave me that and MORE. I have so many people I want to work with, feature, you name it!

But let’s get into my favorite collections from last night.

Streetwear really brought it for me last night. There are so many designer brand I want to own with all my heart now and that have been added to my favourite Nam brands list. At the top of that list is Sirenga!! What was that???! The talent jumped out!

Not far from Sirenga is Concept and Jaye Walker by Taylor Jaye. Guys! No ways. Drip on drip! So much that I have decided to put away a monthly budget to order at least one thing from their brands every month. Lmao.

Also, Vylette of Hair Wonderlust did such an amazing job with the hair on the Jaye Walker models. The shapes and colours did it for me. Talent!

Other faves had that feminine silhouette I love and prefer to wear when I’m not being androgynous. N Martin and Toto were that for me. Toto by Towa is actually a brand that caters for plus sized women and I love that! The dresses were amazing and fit the models so beautifully. I want every piece! Obsessed!

My all time faves Honeycassie Designs & House of Poulton never disappoint me. From silhouettes to fabric & colour choices, they never let me down. Also, Melisa gave us Oteya and Lioness, wow! *heart eyes, *crying emoji

Now, let’s talk about Zuriel. The drama, theatrics, the handsome guest models, the choir, the older women Luis Munana knows how to put on a show. I loved a lot of the pieces, especially the backpacks. I need me one of those.

Okay okay, lastly. MN CREATIONS!

Mathew will definitely be remembered as one of Namibia’s greatest fashion designers, whatever he does today he tops the next time. You will never expect what he does next! He is my client but I’m shook every time he tells me about what he has on his mind.

Last night he launched “Lady G”, a women’s lingerie line alongside his popular men’s underwear line. He brought out the props, the drama, the wings, Pewa the beautifully voiced singer, did I mention WINGS??

Honestly, it’s the talent for me.

Safe to say, my list of favourite Namibian designers is now loooong! But that makes me happy because we HAVE options and of course TALENT!

Now to get Namibia to the world!

With that said, thank you for coming along with me on this year’s edition of MTC Windhoek Fashion. A big job well done to the team, I can imagine how hard it is to put this together. I hope they can fix the few glitches that have come up, especially from the designers.

For more content follow @monochromemag and I have a vlog coming out that I will link here once it’s ready.

Till next year!
