Thoroughly and Unequivocally Obsessed with my new XAMMI Pieces

Sometimes my work comes full circle, and I would say that is the beauty of what I do—seeing a logo I designed randomly on a poster during a random walk in the city, a sponsored social media post, or on a label of product in a store.

It never gets old.

When I recently collaborated with Melody Rohlfs of XAMMI, it wasn’t the first time we worked together; over a year ago, she came to us for the visual development of her ceramics brand identity. I designed the logo that would later be stamped on STUNNING ceramic pieces. Cool right?!

I walked away from our recent content collaboration with two beautiful pieces that I will definitely be adding to my personal asset list.

Before I show you my new pieces, let’s look at how talented Melody is and how beautiful everything she makes under the XAMMI brand is.

In case you didn’t know, XAMMI is a Namibian ceramics brand - they make sculptural pieces, all hand made in Namibia.

Xammi takes inspiration from Namibian landsapes and texture but also the women’s form, which I find just beautiful.

See some of the pieces from the Bank Windhoek Biennale I attended earlier this year that XAMMI was a part of.

Stunning, right?

I will be opening a savings account dedicated solely to XAMMI For now I’m enjoying these two stunning pieces in my home.

Let’s look at the XAMMI pieces I now own. *geeking

First up, this red Sosussvlei inspired vase.

Currently, I have placed the vase at our entry way console, so you see it as you walk into our home. I think it looks beautiful here, but my vision for it is my room, lol. For now, my housemates can enjoy its beauty until I decide on the perfect spot.

And then we have the stunning Namibian landscape mug.

Let me tell you, this mug has been my personality since I got it, other mugs have not seen me in weeks. My partner has even started to call it ‘our cup” - I don’t like that - so I will be ordering one, for him.

The character it possesses, they way it makes me feel when I drink my coffee or tea - like, all is fine in the world.

Looking at how it is made, makes owning it even more special.

I solemnly believe everyone deserves to own this mug in their home.
